Making good wine and sparkling wine is a way of life and a fascinating task. As an old wine-grower’s family, our ancestors taught us that the wine simply gets better if you take care of every single vine by hand and with emotion.

Weingut Steininger

With historical cellars dating back to the 9th Century, and a vineyard next door to the benchmark Willi Bründlmayer in the premier Grüner Veltliner AOC of Kamptal, Steiniger are a true family business with 4 generations of winemakers and viticulturists still actively involved. With very little Steininger making its way outside of Austria, it took a personal visit to procure this wine. The best Austrian Grüners are complex, crisp and harmonious, have verve and liveliness, with a signature white pepper note, snappy citrus edge, deliciousness and a hint of minerality. The best Grüners have a fruit-filled long dry finish and amazing food pairing abilities. Steininger is Grüner royalty, and makes wines with intensity, aristocratic elegance and beautiful length.
